ZooBest Alpha Test Carbonate Hardness - KH

Precision test for determining the carbonate hardness (alkalinity) in freshwater (aquarium and pond) and seawater

Carbonate hardness test set Instructions for use

  1. Draw up 5 ml sample (aquarium water) with the syringe without air bubbles and pour completely into the measuring vessel. *
  2. Hold the dropper bottle exactly vertically and add the reagent drop by drop. Swirl the measuring vessel thoroughly after each drop. If the solution changes colour after the first drop, the value is in the range 0 - 1°dKH.
  3. Add the solution from the dropper bottle drop by drop until the colour changes from blue to yellow. Count each drop.
    1 drop = 1°dKH (= degree of German hardness).
  4. The sensitivity of the test can be increased by doubling the sample volume to e.g. 10 ml. Each drop of the test solution then corresponds to 0.5° dKH.

* The meniscus of the water surface must touch the 5 ml calibration line exactly.

Caution

Clean the cuvette after use, close the reagent bottle tightly and store in a cool, dry place away from light.
Keep out of reach of children!
