Water test for determining the total hardness (GH - permanent hardness) - suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums
Total hardness test set Instructions for use
- Rinse the cuvette several times with the water to be tested and then fill up with exactly 5 ml of water *.
- Add the reagent drop by drop, shaking the sample after each drop. Please do not forget to count the drops count the drops! Add more drops until the mixture changes colour from red to green
- As soon as the green colour is reached, leave the cuvette to rest for approx. 30 seconds; if the colour disappears, add more drops of reagent until the colour remains stable
- The total hardness in ° dGH corresponds to the number of drops of reagent required to achieve the green colour. 1 drop corresponds to 1° dGH
- The sensitivity of the test can be increased by doubling the sample size to e.g. 10 ml. Then each drop of the test solution corresponds to 0.5° dGH
* The meniscus of the water surface must touch the 5 ml graduation mark exactly
