Ferrdrakon K Full Potassium Fertilizer
Ferrdrakon K complete potassium fertiliser as a ready-to-use solution or as a refill pack
Potassium can become a limiting factor for heavily planted high-light tanks, especially as many plants accumulate potassium far in excess of their requirements.
However, some plants react very sensitively to too little available potassium (e.g. Alternanthera [parrot leaf] and Ammania [cognac plant] species). The symptoms are sudden stunted growth and crippling of the newly forming leaves.
Basic fertilisation with Ferrdrakon with Ferrdrakon K which contains a higher proportion of potassium, more magnesium and some calcium.
The content of iron, manganese and the other trace elements had to be reduced by half compared to Ferrdrakon because the solubility of the potassium salts is too low to be able to set the desired ratio between potassium, iron and the other trace elements without compromise.
Composition
30,000 mg/l potassium, 7,500 mg/l magnesium, 500 mg/l iron, 200 mg/l manganese, 100 mg/l calcium, 30 mg/l boron, 10 mg/l copper, 10 mg/l molybdenum, 10 mg/l zinc, 5 mg/l nickel, 5 mg/l cobalt, 4.6 mg/l iodide, EDTA, HEEDTA, DTPA, NTA or IDHA*, methylparaben, ascorbic acid
* Please observe the package information.
Daily addition at a dosage of 2 ml / 100 litres of aquarium water
600 µg/l potassium, 150 µg/l magnesium, 10 µg/l iron, 4 µg/l manganese, 2 µg/l calcium, 0.6 µg/l boron, 0.2 µg/l copper, 0.2 µg/l molybdenum, 0.2 µg/l zinc, 0.1 µg/l nickel, 0.1 µg/l cobalt, 0.092 µg/l iodide
Dosage
Ferrdrakon K should only ever be used as part of the Ferrdrakon-dosage. It is based on the calculated or proven dose of Ferrdrakon and replace part of it with double the amount of Ferrdrakon K. If given alone, the potassium intake would be too high in practically all cases.
For this replaced part, the potassium and magnesium intake is 20 times as high as before.
Initially, only a small proportion (a reasonable starting value is 20 - 30 %) of the Ferrdrakon-dose with Ferrdrakon K and only slowly increase the amount replaced. Observe the effect: if there is no further improvement in growth and/or problems with algae occur, the replacement rate must be reduced again.
Daily additions are preferable so that an abrupt weekly increase in potassium concentration does not lead to increased algae growth.
As an exception, you can fertilise the fresh water directly with half the dose (10 ml / 100 l fresh water) if you are otherwise fertilising daily with larger water changes.
A minimum water change of 25 % every 2 weeks is required. Of course, more is not harmful, but makes a lot of sense.
Optimum iron content
0.05 - 0.1 mg/l
Optimum potassium content
10 - 15 mg/l
A strongly excessive potassium content may cause excessive green algae growth or induce magnesium deficiency symptoms by displacing it.
Shelf life
Store in a dark and cool place (the metal chelate complexes are sensitive to light) see database.
The delivered solution usually has a light yellow to dark brown colour. Some time after exposure to air, the colour can deepen to a deep brown or greenish black, but always remains clear. The effect of the fertiliser remains unchanged.

Works well
I dose Ferrdrakon K relatively high to the Bio Ferrdrakon (5ml K / 3ml Bio FE). Sounds a bit strange, but it works. I had the feeling that FE was too high in my tank (droplet test says otherwise) and K was hardly present. I have brush algae on the hardscape that are very stubborn. Thanks to this daily fertiliser mix (approx. 45% K to FE), I can now see that these stubborn brush algae are slowly becoming less and less. I have experimented with the flow and filter performance. Fertilisation reduced, fertilisation increased (previously only Ferrdrakon), now I am running my 500l tank with 3ml Bio Ferrdrakon and 5ml Ferrdrakon K per day and the brush algae are visibly decreasing.

Never again without Kremser fertiliser
Thanks to a recommendation, I bought my fertiliser here and optimised my aquarium with a dosing pump. It has never been so beautiful :-)
Both the ready-made fertiliser and the powder for mixing yourself are highly recommended. Many thanks for the great products!

Recommend refill pack powder, lasts practically forever
Ferrdrakon + Ferrdrakon K in use here.
My tap water has almost no potassium and there were certain deficiencies.
A perfect diagnosis is of course not always so easy, but if the plants and not the algae are proliferating, not everything can be wrong.
Here at the (14-day) water change with Ferr K (in the Trigon 350 every 14 days Ferr 15 FerrK 10 Fulvo 15), the following week only 20ml Ferr.

Again and again
I always like to use the fertiliser. I like to buy the powder for dissolving all products, such as Ferrdrakon K, Daydrakon, Eudrakon P. Eudrakon N is always used as a supplement for my plant tank.
