Specialised complete iron fertiliser for intensively maintained plant tanks
These include, amongst others, high-intensity lighting tanks and very densely planted tanks. Developed by Hans-Georg Kramer.
The aquatic plant specialist and specialist author Hans-Georg Kramer has empirically developed over many years a fertiliser that shows its qualities especially in well-planted aquariums, particularly when these are also brightly lit.
The use of four different chelators in a special proportioning and an extremely broad range of trace elements including so-called ‘beneficial elements’ helps to cultivate even the most demanding plants.
Dosage instructions
First determine the effective water volume in your aquarium by subtracting the volume of substrate, internal filter and large-volume decorative objects. The easiest way to do this is with a metre rule or a tape measure.
Then determine the lighting factor by establishing the total illuminance of your lighting in lumens and dividing it by the net volume of your aquarium.
Up to an actual water depth of approx. 40 cm, you can multiply the wattage of T5 fluorescent lamps and metal-halide lamps by the factor 1.2 in order to take into account their higher luminance and thus depth effect.
The determined lighting factor applies only when using high-quality reflectors, without which only approx. 50 % of the light is available in the aquarium. The light fitting should be optimally ventilated, as the light output of the lamps decreases at higher temperatures.
LED lamps are included in the calculation with the full amount of light, as by principle they have a strongly directed light.
- At medium lighting factors of about 30 lumens/l you need approx. 10 ml / week / 100 l water KramerDrak
- For high-light aquariums from 40 lumens/l approx. 12 ml / week / 100 l water KramerDrak is recommended
- More than 15 ml / week / 100 l water KramerDrak did not in any case bring any further improvement
The luminous efficacy of a fluorescent or metal-halide lamp with electronic ballast corresponds roughly to 70 - 90 lumens/watt. This allows the above information to be converted accordingly for older lighting systems.

Shelf life
Stored in a dark place (the metal chelate complexes are UV-sensitive) and cool - minimum shelf life 3 years.

Best fertiliser for high light tanks
KramerDrak special complete iron fertiliser for strong light pools
Easy to use and absolutely safe, everything grows and thrives. Even plants that are otherwise supposed to grow very slowly proliferate and spread. Anubias sprouts leaves, lush green and also blooms under water. The only disadvantage: where to put all the green waste from the aquarium?
