Serves to cover an increased magnesium requirement with immediate effect!
Use the Sealutions - magnesium solutionto directly eliminate a deficiency in this area.
General information
The target (natural) magnesium concentration in seawater is approx. 1,350 (1,200 - 1,400) mg/l.
Magnesium is necessary for the ionic balance and binds the silicic acid in the water.
Red coralline algae and gorgonians in particular have an increased magnesium requirement and consumption, but stony corals, sponges, sea urchins, crabs, mussels and snails also incorporate small amounts of magnesium into their skeletons.
Possible consequences of too low a magnesium content
- Growth disorders in stony corals and calcareous red algae
- Lack of skeleton formation in echinoderms and moulting problems in crustaceans
Determination
The difference between the total hardness (Ca + Mg) and the calcium determination provides the current magnesium content.
Here, 1° dH total hardness corresponds to 0.179 mmol/l alkaline earth ions or the equivalent of 4.35 mg/l Mg or 7.17 mg/l Ca.
Dosage
10 ml per 10 litres of water increase the magnesium content by 50 mg/l.
Content
50 g/l magnesium (as a mixture of magnesium chloride/magnesium sulphate)
The chloride/sulphate ratio corresponds to natural seawater, so that this ratio is not changed in the treated pool during use.
Only salts of the purest and better quality are used.
Contains no chelators!
