Terrdrakon NPK balls aquamax
Long-term fertiliser balls for all aquatic plants
For targeted top-up fertilisation in an established aquarium
- With valuable, air-dried clay from Sri Lanka
- Filled with high-quality NPK fertiliser (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium)
- Contains numerous minerals such as the important iron
- Ideal for all aquatic plants that require nutrients
- Each individual ball is carefully handmade
Clay balls as fertilisers were already known in the pioneering days of aquaristics, but were then partly forgotten.
The plants drive their roots to the clay balls and obtain the necessary nutrients directly from the clay balls. Terrdrakon NPK fertiliser balls. The rather impermeable clay prevents the fertiliser from being immediately released into the environment and the aquarium water. Nitrates and phosphates in particular remain where they belong: with the plants!
Application
1 - 3 Terrdrakon NPK balls into the substrate next to or under the plant to be supplied, depending on the size of the plant. The aquarium plants will root through the balls after a short time. The balls can also be distributed evenly in the substrate when setting up a new tank. Please do not use more than 3 - 4 balls per 100 litres of water.
Top-up fertilisation is necessary every 3 to 6 months, depending on the growth and quantity of plants.
Please put the balls into the soil as soon as possible. They are not intended to be left in the water for a long time, as otherwise they will soften, dissolve and can then no longer be placed in the soil. The removal of the remains of the balls is then also associated with quite a lot of effort.
Composition
Clay is a natural product and essentially consists of swellable layered (alumino)silicates (molecular formulae in varying proportions: SiO₂, Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃) with ion exchange capabilities.
250 mg NPK fertiliser per scoop: 14 % N (5.5 % N nitrate nitrogen; 8.5 % N ammonium nitrogen); 7 % P₂O₅ neutral ammonium citrate-soluble and water-soluble phosphate; 17 % K₂O water-soluble potassium oxide; 2 % MgO magnesium oxide; 0.02 % B boron; 0.01 % Zn zinc.
* Plant growth depends on several factors. Basically, a plant always needs all growth substances in sufficient quantities to thrive. Even if the water is well fertilised (see my other offers), plants will show signs of deficiency and stagnant growth if the nutrients are lacking in the root area.

Perfect addition for the root areas
"Every 6 months I fertilise the root areas of the plants that need it with the NPK & SE balls. Overall, I fertilise sparingly, i.e. a little less than indicated on the instructions. Aquariums here run without CO2, lighting not too bright (also because I beautify the water colour with fulvodracon). Has been running for years.
PS: My sand, 0.4 - 1.4 mm grain size, otherwise remains untouched, I only remove larger quantities of visibly coarse mulm on the surface.

Just like in the early days of my aquarium time
I used to make these balls myself from clay and fertiliser to save pocket money.
Today, and even in the absence of clay, I am very pleased with the product. I mainly use it on an Echinodorus "Osiris double red" and we enjoy a new leaf on this plant every week.
