Chelator
Complex ligand that occupies more than one coordination site of the central atom.
For entropic reasons, such a complex is more stable than the corresponding one with single and independent ligands. NTA, EDTA (6), HEEDTA (7), DTPA (7.5) and EDDHA (10) are often used. The pH up to which the complex is stable is shown in brackets.
