Alum

Double salt of potassium and aluminium sulphate (KAl(SO4)2 × 12 H2O).
Occasionally used to disinfect aquatic plants. Dosage approx. 1 heaped tablespoon per 10 litres of water (rinse very well afterwards, aluminium salts have a toxic effect on fish and invertebrates in large quantities).
